Coast Rifle and Pistol Club

March 18, 2009 6:00 p.m.

 

There were 27 members present for the February monthly meeting including the following Officers and Board members:

The following items were discussed:

 

1.       The treasury and membership report was provided. As of this date, the club has $123,279.55 and there are 1,247 active members.

2.       The 4-H Club shooters will not meet this Saturday. There are 15-17 children currently participating in this program. Donations are being accepted for the 4-H program. Additional volunteers are needed for this program. The club will be closed at 1:00 pm on Friday April 24th and all day Saturday April 25th for the 4-H shoot.

3.       The event for the Young Lawyers Association has been scheduled for the first Saturday in May (May 2, 2009). This event will not interfere with the regular silhouette shooting.

4.       Randy Brownlee is still working on a Media Day. This event has not been scheduled.

5.       The week before the 4-H shoot the club will ensure that the grass has been mowed and the facilities cleaned.

6.       A motion was made to buy and flag pole for the facility. Randy Brownlee will price the pole and present prices to the club at the next meeting.

7.       A motion was made and seconded by Joe Culpepper and Oscar Jordan to present and discuss club membership fees at the annual meeting. Notice will be sent out to all members by email and postcards as well as listing this item on the website. Four members opposed this motion, all others were in favor.

8.       On March 17, 2009, the Sherriff’s Department were called to the club. A report was made claiming that bullets were leaving the facility grounds from the 100 Yard Range and were crossing onto the Lamey property. 

9.       A discussion was held concerning establishing a committee to help implement the new badge system. Several members expressed interest in helping with this project including: Randy Brownlee, Tom Wiltz, and John Stubbendick.

10.   All members were encouraged wear safety glasses and help ensure all other members and guests wear them as well.

11.   Chester Abbott requested to rent a dozer for one day at $400/day to perform some preliminary leveling of new skeet locations. All agreed.
