There were 9 members present for the July monthly meeting including the following Officers and Board members:

The meeting was called to order and the following items were discussed:
1. The Contractor for the skeet/trap construction has requested a partial payment of $28,804.55. A vote was taken and unanimously approved by the board members to pay this amount to the contractor, Dan Blanchard.
2. A membership report was given as 636 members entered into the new database.
3. The treasury report was given stating the club bank account stands at $206,746.72.
4. Checks written to date for the month of July include:

5. The construction of the new skeet fields is located directly in front of the existing trap field. The contractor will begin layout of the new trap field within the next week to limit the time the trap shooters are inconvenienced.
6. Andre will be consulted to ensure that the personnel responsible for pick up and disposal of materials in the dumpster have access with our new code system.
7. Amy Champagne has completed her work for the club membership renewals.
8. Skeet/trap clays have been ordered and are expected to arrive August 3, 2009.
9. The skeet/trap rounds have been balanced. Out of the 1063 rounds used, 14 rounds were not accounted for. This is 1.4% of the total rounds which is well below the national average.
10. Major Beasley from Camp Shelby has requested to use our facility to conduct a home protection course. This training will include rifle, shotgun, and pistol. Joe Newman will support this training and be available from the club to oversee the activities on the property. A vote was taken and unanimously approved by the board members to allow Major Beasley to conduct this training. Chester will contact the Major to obtain additional information and select a date for the training. If this training will be at no charge to the individuals, then the club will not charge for use of the facilities. If there is a charge for the training, then the club will charge $200 for the first 10 participants and $20 for everyone over the ten.
11. A gun show will be held in Biloxi on August 22nd and 23rd. Ken will be asked to chair the club’s involvement at this show. The board voted and unanimously agreed to have a table at the show and approved up to $250.
12. Dan Blanchard has provided a cost of $15,726.27 to construct a 30x40 steel pavilion for the new skeet facilities. The pavilion will have a 140 mph wind rating. It will also have 10 foot eave height and 11’ 6” crown height. A vote was taken by the board and unanimously approved to proceed with the construction of this pavilion. Chester will review the requirements with the contractor and the contractor will acquire all the required permits.
13. A flyer was shown announcing a “Tea Party” on the Biloxi Green scheduled for the following Saturday (July 18, 2009) at noon.
14. Hale requested that flash targets be purchased for the combat pistol events. New targets can be purchased for approximately $500. These targets can be manufactured by club members for approximately $300. A vote was taken and unanimously approved for the materials to be purchased to construct these targets.
