Coast Rifle and Pistol Club

April 15, 2009 6:00 p.m.

There were 17 members present for the February monthly meeting including the following Officers and Board members:

The following items were discussed:

1. The treasury and membership report was provided. As of this date, the club has $121,911.38 and there are 1,252 active members.

2. A price range of $850-$900 was quoted for a 24 foot aluminum flag pole. A United States flag and a state Mississippi flag will be donated to the club. The pole and flags will be used for special events until such a time that the flags can be lit and stay in place after dark. A vote was taken and all were in favor of purchasing the pole.

3. The event for the Young Lawyers Association is scheduled for May 2, 2009. As of this date, there has been no advertising for the event. This event may need to be postponed. Randy will try to contact someone from the organization to confirm their plans.

4. The 4-H Regional Shoot is coming up April 25, 2009. A sign has been posted at the gate announcing that the club will be closed on the afternoon of April 24, 2009 and on April 25, 2009 for preparation and for the shoot. Volunteers were requested. Details of the event were discussed including parking, tables/tents, clean up, and concessions.

5. Profits from the 4-H event were discussed. It was voted and passed that 25% of the profit would be provided to the state 4-H fund and the remaining 75% would be kept at the club to use for the Harrison County 4-H Shooters.

6. Approximately $330 in donations has been collected for the Harrison County 4-H Shooters. To date the largest cost has been to provide shells to the students.

7. Jean requested that the club consider sponsoring a young junior team of shooters throughout the year.
